Network Drives: How to connect/disconnect

To request access or to change your access to a drive, fill out this form DI Network Drive Access Request .

 

Mac computers

To Connect on a Mac

  1. In Finder, click Go > Connect to Server

  2. Enter the path of the network drive you're trying to map and click Connect

    1. NOTE: If you don’t know the path for the drive you need, contact LIT or Darcy.

  3. Enter your login details and password then click OK to mount the network drive

To Connect Automatically at Login (only needs to be done once)

  1. Go to System Preferences > Users and Groups

  2. Select Login Items and click the + button to add a new item

  3. Find the network drive and click Add, then close the window

To Disconnect on a Mac

  1. Select the drive

  2. Right click and select Eject

 


Windows PC computers

To Connect on a Windows PC

  1. Open File Explorer

  2. Right click on This PC and select Map Network Drive

  3. In the Drive list, select a drive letter that is not currently in use

  4. In the Folder box, type the path of the drive, then click on Browse.

    1. NOTE: If you don’t know the path for the drive you need, contact LIT or Darcy.

  5. Expand the DI drive, select the partition you need and click OK.

  6. Select Reconnect at sign-in and Connect using different credentials.

  7. Select Finish.

  8. Enter your credentials and click on OK.

To Disconnect on a Windows PC

  1. Open File Explorer

  2. Right click on the drive and select Disconnect
