Extended Leave Checklist

It is an ideal time for hackers to target unattended computers when leaving work for an extended period of time. Following is a checklist to keep your computer equipment safe and your colleagues informed of your availability.

1. Update your computer

   1. Mac Instructions:

      1. System Preferences | General | Software Update | Check for Updates

   2. Windows Instructions:

      1. Start button | Settings | Windows Update | Check for updates

2. Shut down your computer

3. Shut down your unit printers

4. Setup an Outlook Automatic Reply for incoming email

   1. Tools | Automatic Replies | Include your message, leave date, and return date

5. Setup a Mitel message for unanswered messages
