An exploration towards an easy alternate for printing labels from Sierra:

1- Creating the Word Label template:

  • copy/paste a sample label into a new file and add a sample header

  • Adjust the paper size to the size of the label

    • Print; Page Setup

    • Paper size; Custom size

      • Width: 1.25”

      • Height: 1.5”

  • Set margins to 0.13 each:

Using the template:

  • Set default Printer in MS Windows Setting for the Label Printer

  • Bring up the file: WORD-labelTemplate9pt

  • Copy/paste call number from Sierra item record,

    • fix lines;

    • if item is not heading to Merrill Cazier stacks, edit 2nd header

  • Most labels will fit on the page at font size 9

    But, if call number is spread over 2 pages--set font size to 8.

  • Finally, File; Print

  • No labels
