Although tangible sound recordings on tapes, CDs, and LP (vinyl) records are considered obsolete formats, the library does have a few collections, mainly in LMC (now on the 2nd floor), and SCA. For historical purposes and for occasional requested additions from professors, here are the workflows we use for sound recordings in tangible format:

Music recordings: CDs - Fast Cataloging Workflow

  • 2nd floor, next to Microform cabinet and readers

Music Recordings: Vinyl and 78 rpm "records"

  • 2nd floor, next to New Book Reading Lounge

Non Music CDs - Cataloging quick guide

Non Music Vinyl (and 78 rpms, etc.) quick guide

  • Same as Music Vinyl location

Original Analog Sound "Records" (45 rpm, LPs, 78 rpm) -

  • USU Special Collections and Archives

Sound Recordings - ANSCR classification

  • For all USU Eastern sound recordings and for just USU LMC vinyl (and 78s) sound disks.
