Alrighty, lets see if I can list the various conditions that we’re going to find…
Condition A:
There is just 1 Holdings Record:
The 8xx holdings field has just a single copy number, or is blank,
There is just 1 Item,
The bib is a single volume monograph.
Example:
Example of a single Holding record field 866 with just “c. 2” in it:
If all of the above are true, delete the Holdings Record, (but not the item):.
Mark as DONE
Condition B: There is one Holdings record with two or more copies of a monograph:
Description 300 xiv, 363 pages ;|c24 cm.
Holdings 866 31 |81.1|ac.1 c.2
Delete the Holdings Record and
If both the Item Records say have Copy No.: 1, check the 945 migration field for a copy number, and if it is there, put it into the Copy No. field.
If not, don’t worry too much about the copy number, the barcode will distinguish the items
f. Mark as DONE
Condition C: The items have parts in the Volume field, and are all items are in the same location
Open the Holdings Record and edit the holdingslocation
to match the item location.b.
Condition B: All Holdings records are simply items in different item locations.
Condition C. all Holdings records refer to copies only.
