At timesFor serial tiles that we have stopping receiving issues, we may need to update or create an OCLC Local Holdings Maintenance Record for a bibliographic record. If we are already in the bibliographic record in OCLC Connexion Client, it is fairly easy to open the OCLC Browser to do so (however, the user will need to have the authorization to make changes in LHRs).

1. Search for the serial title or bbib-number in Sierra & verify it is the correct record

2. Copy the OCLC number to search in OCLC

3. Display the Holdings record in Sierra

1. View: Display local holdings

2. Edit: Editing local holdings record

3. To edit fixed fields, click on the + symbol to the left of the field (which will expand the field)

   • To close fixed fields: Apply or if opened by mistake: Cancel

   • 008 possible change:

     • change Receipt or Acquisition: 4 to 5 (not currently received)

   • Image RemovedImage Added

     007 field possible changes:

     • Category: z to t (text)

     • Material Designation: u to a (print)

4. Type in changes as needed

   1. add a new field using the Functions at the right of the field.

5. Action: Replace record

6. Some of these will be in the old 866 format,

   1. if easy to do, go ahead and convert them to the standard 853/863 fields and change Summary if detailed, to Local holdings available

   2. otherwise, update the old 866 and change Summary if detailed, to Local holdings available
