Locations for Call Numbers
This section will demonstrate how to assign locations by call number.
The location codes for item records are listed here:Item Location Codes All items going to the general stacks are assigned a location by the first letter in their call number.
For instance, in the following example:
HV 5840 .M42 C5826 2010 - H is the letter by which the call number would be assigned.
There are two exception to the first letter rule: TR and TT, which are not assigned along with all of the call number starting with “T”. They are pulled out specifically for the Art Collection.
Examples:
TR 6 .G72 L664 2000
TT 23 .C743 2013

Below lists a quick view table showing the locations codes assigned to each call number range. Please note that oversize books have their own location codes. Please review the follow list for measurements to determine oversize: https://usulibrary.atlassian.net/l/c/o1WaMm9e For further information on the construction of call numbers, please see this guide: https://usulibrary.atlassian.net/l/c/RxEfermu .
